Upstairs is a literal name defining the location of the restaurant – a word that represents our commitment to consistently raising the bar, several steps above the informality of Kaibo Beach Restaurant, and honoring the very best we can offer.
Upstairs, an upscale restaurant in a plantation house, rolls out the (rum) barrel when it comes to tropical decadence. The awarded destination hideaway uses local elements from land and sea to showcase upscale dining, artisan cocktails and you can enjoy a cheeky cigar on the sea-view raised deck.

“CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE RESTAURANT AND ITS PEOPLE?”
Upstairs at Kaibo was well awarded as Grand Cayman’s no. 1 restaurant from 2012, through until 2019 for consistently excellent quality food, service, value and atmosphere. The chefs cook up a storm with modern techniques, using local and Caribbean ingredients, to create a masterpiece of a menu, orchestrated by Executive Chef Kyle Jenkins.
The service under the direction of Maître D’ Brain O’Neil and his exceptional team effortlessly combines friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of relaxed Caribbean tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of the plantation style building.
Inside, the Rare Rum Bar is a beautifully decorated lounge with comfortable couches arranged in cosy drinking nooks. The Rare Rum Cabinet boasts Cayman’s widest selection of sipping rums. The boutique wine list is selected to compliment every dish on the menu, with new and old world both well represented.
The menu at Upstairs changes frequently and reflects the seasonal availability and best of local produce in the Cayman Islands.
All desserts are made in house.
