Cayman KiteFest 2017
Cayman Kitefest at Kaibo Beach
has unfortunately been cancelled this year by the charity Cayman’s ARK.
Kitefest will be back to Kaibo Beach in 2018!
Easter Monday April 2 2018
What is Cayman Kitefest?
Cayman Kitefest is part of Kaibo’s vision to celebrate Caymanian culture. The kite festival is set to welcome the summer season, when the wind is suitable for kite-flying activities. Visit Kaibo Beach in Cayman Kai over Easter to take part in an age-old custom. The Caribbean tradition of kite flying on the island’s breezy shores may have been forgotten by many, and we hope that Kitefest will inspire Cayman’s new generation to return to a custom that costs little and is environmentally friendly.
The event will not have a door fee, there will be a boat leaving Camana Bay at 12 noon, and a live local band playing on the beach. Entrants into the different kite competition categories have a chance to win fantastic prizes from local companies, such as a smart phone from Digicel. If you enjoy live local music and a chance to fly a kite in the Caribbean breeze, we hope to see you on the beach for our annual Easter Monday Cayman Islands Kitefest!
Kaibo Beach is open every day over the Easter break from 11am until midnight.
Kitefest is a FREE event to watch. Bring your own kite or make one at home.
Join the event in kite flying competitions to win great prizes. Registration will start at 1pm.
Kite Competition Registration is $5 donation to Cayman’s ARK charity.
Local band Bona Fide will perform, unplugged, and offer a chance to dance in the sand.
Live local music 1-2 and 3-4pm
Paddle boarding and kayaking and lots of fun in the water is available all day.
Kayaking and SUP use is $5 donation to Caymans ARK charity

We went to Kaibo for the kite festival, and weren’t we glad we went. Excellent food delivered quickly despite it being extremely busy, wonderful live entertainment and the beach a few feet away. Recommended!
