If you’re game, we’ve got plenty to keep you entertained with our invigorating selection of DJs, MCs with competitions, body painters, and anew for 2012 a food court with all your favorite island food outlets. It’s all about getting to those beads first, and the VIP section is where to do it. The V.I.P room hosts the famous balcony party to Kaibo’s very special guests. White rabbits, self-portrait photo booth, and did we mention the real reason to come… THE BEADS? Get served fast at the 4 sided granite bar, relax in the Blue Caterpillar Club and reapply your makeup in the luxury granite bathrooms. It is here that hedonism is kept separate from heaving crowds. Mad Hatter’s Main Bar
The LARGEST full bar at Kaibo Mardi Gras, the infamous central thatch and bamboo bar is enlarged to twice the size only for Mardi Gras. Kaibo’s centrally located fully stocked bar has plenty of space on all sides for serving ice cold beer in addition to all your other favourite drinks. Queen of Hearts Beach Bar
Be sure not to lose your head at the heart of the party! Located on the sand dance floor of the Kaibo Mardi Gras party, the thatched cabana offers beverages to party people who don’t want to leave the beach to quench their thirst. This optimally placed bar is the ONLY FULL BAR ON THE BEACH next to the action of the stage offering the best view of the live acts. The food court is a new addition to the party, allowing you to choose from a wide range of food vendors, with seating and surrounding palm tree shade supplied. This is the best food court you may encounter at an event of this size. Vendors commited to making an appearance are:

The Cayman Islands Kaibo Mardi Gras takes place every year on Kaibo Beach on the Ash Wednesday public holiday, and attracts party people of all ages. Kaibo Mardi Gras Wonderland 2012 runs from noon to midnight, with a 200 passenger ferry running all day to get you to and from the beautiful North Side of the island. Caymans best DJs will play back to back for 12 hours of solid party time. Beads, body painters, dancing girls, and the Island’s favorite MCs will be on the stage to entertain you with great competitions and prizes on the day. Entry is $5 with wrist bands, (in advance) available today at Kaibo Beach and the Cayman Free Press office on Shedden Road.

Mardi Gras essential details for the day:
We want you to enjoy your time at Kaibo Mardi Gras Wonderland as much as possible, so we’ve put together a wealth of advice for you: from what to bring and what not to bring, to tips on arrival, to bringing kids, to what to do in a medical emergency. Keep reading to and get yourself fully prepared for having a Wonder-ful time.
Arriving
Coming to Kaibo Mardi Gras Wonderland by Ferry: The ferry runs every 2 hours from Safehaven between 12 noon and 1am..
BIGGER FERRY THAN
EVER BEFORE
will be running from the Safe Haven pick up point just passed the tan building with red roof. Look out for the Carib beer bar! The ferry can carry up to 200 people safely.
Ferry leaves Safe Haven at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm, 10pm.
Ferry departs Kaibo at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, 9pm, 11pm, and 1am.
Ferry tickets are $10 for a return trip. If you don’t purchase a wrist band on the boat you are not guaranteed a return trip. VIP ticket holders get a free ferry pass.
Coming by car: February 22nd 2012 is the same day as the agricultural show in savannah, which causes major traffic jams along the savannah/newlands road. On arrival into Cayman Kai you will be required to park at the old Cayman Kai resort (proposed indigo site). From this location Kaibo provides free shuttle buses to Kaibo Mardi Gras Wonderland. Each bus holds 29 passengers, and these buses will be running a continuous loop, so the wait time should be no more than 5 mins. We have to take this approach to ensure free and clear access on the one road in and out to Kaibo. Please do not bring any food or beverage items on the buses because these items will not be allowed into the event.
Coming by private boat: Please email Kaibo (kaibo@thebeach.com) with your name, boat name and details, to arrange reservation of your private slip.
Entrance
Wristbands are being sold today at Kaibo and the Cayman Free Press office on Shedden Road. Purchasing a wristband before the event will ensure you are fast tracked through the lines and straight into the action. It also saves paying $10 on the door!

Be prepared to be searched by our professional security personnel this is to ensure everyone has a fantastically safe time. Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Prohibited items
Guns, knives, fire works, tools, sharp objects, ammunition, food, alcoholic Beverage, non-Alcoholic Beverage (with the exception of childrens’ sippy cups)
All above items will be confiscated. Holders of firearms & weapons will be turn over to the Police.
Emergency
A paramedic will be on staff through out the event stationed at the Kaibo gift shop any minor medical emergencies can be deal with at the gift shop location. Safety officers and Security guards will be stationed in obvious point through out the event all staff are in radio contact in case of an emergency contact any member of staff for assistance.
Kids
Kaibo Mardi Gras Wonderland is a kid friendly event, a PG rating is suggested for all minors under 18.
Pets
No animals will be allowed access to the event they won’t enjoy it. Too many people and loud music is not a good environment for your dog, cheshire cat, pig, dormouse or white rabbit.
Drink & Drugs
Drugs/alcohol cocktails can be lethal. Know your limits, and those of your friends. Drunk people can be very irksome! You’ll all have a much better time if you avoid over-doing it. If you are concerned that one of your friends requires assistance ask a safety office or security personnel to point you towards the gift shop where our paramedic will be on duty .
Don’t forget to drink plenty of water, dancing and summer sun can increase your need. Bottled water is available at all bars.
Kaibo does not condone the dealing in or use of illegal drugs. Drug enforcement laws are as applicable on our site as anywhere else in the Cayman Islands. Police officers will be on site and will deal with drug offences in accordance with the law. If you deal in drugs, it is likely that you will be arrested. Neither anti-social nor illegal behavior will be tolerated and participants will leave themselves liable.
You will be searched at the entrance. Any items, which the organizers consider, may be used in an illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated. Persons suspected of carrying out illegal and / or offensive activities onsite may be searched. Experimenting with drugs can lead to adverse reactions. The crowds and loud music can be very frightening and disorientating. If you do take drugs and you become ill, depressed or frightened please ask a safety office or security guard to direct you to one the gift shop where our paramedic can help and support you.
Please don’t drink and drive, the Police are out in force waiting. Don’t become a statistic. If you intend to drink please take the ferry and walk home.

Facilities
We have various toilets around the event the main female bathrooms are situated on the ground floor west side of the building the main male bathrooms are located on the east ground floor of the building. The V.I.P section has its own set of bathrooms located by the bar area. These restrooms are manned through out the event. In addition to these we have a bank of porta potties located in the west parking lot.
Lost Property
If you’ve lost an item at Kaibo Mardi Gras Wonderland, please Email – Kaibo@thebeach.com – with a full description of the item lost. We receive 100s of requests each year so it might take a while but we’ll try our very best to find and return your property as quickly as we can. Due to the high volume of issues in this regard, lost property requests cannot be dealt with by phone.
